Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Emily Scott
Emily Scott

Hello, Morningside! I am so excited to begin the year as Assistant Principal.

I graduated from Longwood University with a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Special Education. After graduating from Longwood, I started my career as a Special Education Teacher and volleyball coach at E.C Glass High School in Lynchburg, Virginia, where I am from. During this time, I went back to school to obtain a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Liberty University.

I moved to Roanoke in 2017 and started teaching at Patrick Henry High School. Throughout my four years at PH, I served as a Special Education Teacher, Special Education Department Chair, Student Based Referral Team Chairperson, SAT Coordinator, Testing Coordinator, Softball Coach and Volleyball Assistant Coach. In 2021, I went back to Longwood University and earned my Educational Leadership Endorsement. This will be my ninth year in education, and I cannot wait to meet all the students and their families at Morningside!

Please join us in welcoming her to the Morningside Team!
